Identity Verification (KYC) Guide

Identity Verification (KYC) Requirements

To ensure a secure trading environment and maintain full compliance with Canada's federal anti-money laundering regulations (PCMLTFA), NI-Exchange requires all users to complete identity verification prior to executing transactions.

1. Individual Clients (Personal Accounts)

To verify your account, you must upload clear, unaltered copies of the following documents:

  • Primary Government-Issued Photo ID: A valid Canadian Driver’s License, Canadian Passport, Permanent Resident (PR) Card, or valid Foreign Passport. Note: Ontario Health Cards cannot be accepted for identity verification under provincial regulations.

  • Proof of Residential Address (Issued within the last 3 months): A utility bill (gas, electricity, water), internet/cable bill, or a bank statement clearly displaying your legal name and current residential address. (PO Boxes are not accepted).

2. Corporate Clients (Business Accounts)

For entities looking to onboard as corporate trading partners, please prepare:

  • Articles of Incorporation / Corporate Registration Documents.

  • A Corporate Profile Report showing current active directors.

  • Government-issued photo IDs for all beneficial owners/shareholders holding 20% or more of the entity's voting rights or shares.

NI-Exchange utilizes secure, encrypted transmission channels to process your KYC documentation. All personal information is strictly retained for 5 years as mandated by federal law.
